Glasgow

           Glasgow (Glaschu) is the largest city in Scotland and third most populous in the United Kingdom. The city is situated on the River Clyde in the country's West Central Lowlands. In 2011 the population was 598,830. It is common to derive the name Glasgow from the older Cumbric glas cau or a Middle Gaelic cognate, which would have meant green hollow.Glasgow is one of Europe's top ten financial centres and is home to many of Scotland's leading businesses.Glasgow is also ranked as the 57th most liveable city in the world. 
           The main landmarks are Glasgow Science Centre, Gallery of Modern Art, Royal Exchange Square, The Lighthouse, University of Glasgow, Finnieston Crane, Glasgow City Chambers, Buchanan Street, The Tolbooth Steeple, Clyde Arc, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, People's Palace museum, The Doulton Fountain, House for an Art Lover, Bellahouston Park, Ruchill Church, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow Cathedra, Glasgow Tower, Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
