The main tributaries are: Shilka (Ши́лка), Zeya (Зе́я), Bureya (Бурея), Amgun (Амгу́нь), Ergune (额尔古纳河), Huma, Songhua (松花江), Ussuri (乌苏里江).
Amur river is crossing the following cities: Blagoveschensk (Благовещенск), Heihe (黑河), Tongjiang (同江), Khabarovsk (Хабаровск), Amursk (Аму́рск), Komsomolsk-on-Amur (Комсомо́льск-на-Аму́ре), Nikolayevsk-on-Amur (Никола́евск-на-Аму́ре).
